  If the accident involves a vehicle containing dangerous goods, you should -
• Keep well clear of the scene, if possible upwind, and warn other, road users about the danger;
• Leave any rescue operations to the emergency services;
• When summoning assistance, give as much information as possible about the marking labels on the vehicle.

The transport of dangerous goods by road is subject to the Dangerous Substances Act, 1972 and regulations made under it. A guide to the Conveyance of Dangerous Substances by Road is available from the offices of the Health and Safety Authority.
